Stephen Hawking was a man whose contributions to the field of science are noteworthy. The great playwright Shakespeare’s famous lines ‘His life was gentle; and the elements So mixed in him, that Nature might stand up, And say to all the world, THIS WAS A MAN!’ best describe him. Here is a piece that reminds us once again of the man and his concerns for a better world.
On Wednesday, March 14, the famous British scientist and author who performed revolutionary work in physics and cosmology, and whose books helped to make science accessible to everyone, died of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) disease at his home in Cambridge.
The news touched many in his field and beyond. It just seems like that a star just went out in the cosmos. We have lost an amazing human being. Stephen Hawking fought and conquer the cosmos courageously for 76 years and taught us all something important about what it truly means to celebrate about being human.
Stephen Hawking was known for his groundbreaking work with black holes and relatively, and was also the author of several popular science books including “A brief History of Time”.
He was a scientist who worked cautiously with the thinking that science is for people’s development and an important social instrument to fight against superstition, baseless beliefs and human suffering, not to claim military might and intellectual awareness alone.
To say that Stephen was a genius & it is simply incompetent to describe the breadth of his significant talents & interest. Indeed, he was unquestionably one of the most influential scientists of the century.
Neither citation analysis nor a comprehensive acknowledgement index would reveal his versatile influence in the fields of artificial intelligence, science policy, information retrieval, space science, scientific communication, and the life sciences.
One of the basic rules of the universe is that nothing is perfect. Perfection simply doesn’t exist. Without imperfection, neither you nor I would exist – is one of the best saying by the Stephen Hawking.
It was very sad and painful privilege for all of us to say him a Goodbye! His presence will surely be greatly missed by all the people.
“You may be gone from our sight but, you’re never gone from our heart!”
